RENTALS
& TEST PADDLES
TRY BEFORE YOU BUY PROGRAM
Boat Demos are available April through November. The cost is
$15.00 per canoe or kayak per hour. Demos generally need to be pre-arranged
to insure availability. One of our staff will transport the kayak to the water
for you and accompany you, providing basic instruction to help you make the
right choice. Please feel free to stop by our store and check out our selection
to help narrow down your choices before arranging a demo.
Free Demo
Opportunity - All demo fees will be deducted from any boat purchase made
within 24 hours of your test paddle. Making this a free opportunity to test
paddle your boat before you buy it.
Call our store for additional information and to schedule your test paddle,
845-831-1300.
KAYAK
& CANOE RENTALS - Available April through October

to rush. It is best to reserve your boat ahead of time and canoes and kayaks
need to be picked up at, and returned to our store during regular business hours.
Each single kayak rental includes a paddle and a personal flotation device/lifevest.
Each tandem rental includes two paddles and two PFD's. We also provide foam
blocks and straps for cartopping as necessary and will be happy to help you
find the easiest and safest way to transport your rental equipment.
The "Rule of Thumb" for transporting canoes and kayaks.
No rack at all - One canoe or kayak is easy to load with foam blocks and straps.
If you have a good factory rack with crossbars -1-2 kayaks are OK, only one
canoe. Thule or Yakima rack with the proper accessories 1-4 kayaks, but usually
still only one canoe.
Don't know where to go? We will direct you to a safe paddling destination in
our area based upon your experience level and the conditions expected during
the rental period.
Please call ahead to make a reservation and to discuss your options, 845-831-1300.
Note: For your safety, we strongly recommend that
before you rent a kayak and go out on the Hudson River that you understand it's
tidal nature, have some kayak touring experience and or take a lesson first.
